Bridal Party Certificates

Bridal Party Certificates

After the signing of the Marriage Certificates (on the wedding day), the bride and groom can choose to issue personalised certificates to each Flower Girl and Page Boy in the bridal party.

This exchange of certificates can be turned into a ritual or mini ceremony, and may include music and readings, or involve the parents of the children partaking.

Whilst, it is not common to issue the wider bridal party with certificates (bridesmaids and groomsmen), couples are free to do this if they wish.

As a Celebrant, Tim provides (as part of his Standard Package) the commemorative Certificates to the wedding couple (if requested), as a special memento of the day.

How do I know where my bridal party will stand?

Related to Rehearsal

When we do your rehearsal, you will be able to decide where and in what formation you want your bridal party to stand. Generally, the bridal party will stand on either side of the couple, slightly turned-in (about 45 degrees) towards the couple

What is the historical relevance of the bridal party?

Historically, the bridesmaids surrounded the bride on her wedding day in order to ward-off any evil spirits. In theory, the spirits would be tricked and go after the bridesmaids (instead of the bride)

What happens if members of my bridal party cannot make the Rehearsal?

Members of a bridal party are often unable to attend, usually due to work commitments or that they simply live too far away. This is not an issue, because (after you have been to the rehearsal) you can explain the format and procedure to them prior to the wedding day
