Your Wedding Ceremony

...Keep it short, professional, upbeat and light-hearted...

In the Beginning

When most couples begin looking for a Marriage Celebrant, they have absolutely no idea where to start, who to use, or who to trust?

Should your ceremony be long, short, humorous, strict, formal, serious or melancholich?

Many people that have attended a church wedding, may have experienced a ceremony that is rigid, long-winded and drab. Modern ceremonies do not have to conform to this old fashioned and arguably outdated format.

The Truth

Your wedding day is a 'bringing together' of the most important people in your life; your family, friends and loved ones. Your wedding is also arguably one of the biggest events in your life.

Your ceremony is a 'Celebration' in every sense of the word. Whilst you may believe that you are looking for a rigid formal wedding, the truth is that often the most unforgettable ceremonies are light-hearted and enjoyable.

What Your Guests Want

It is important (when planning your wedding), that you consider your guests; their age, character, whether they will be bringing children to your ceremony, and how far they have travelled to be part of your special day.

For many guests (especially those with children), a shorter ceremony is preferable. For the elderly, adequate seating should be provided, and (once again) the ceremony should be short (eg; no longer than 20 minutes).

What Brides Want

For many brides getting married, their wedding day will be the first time they have ever walked down an aisle (or on a red-carpet for that matter). On her wedding day, a bride wants to feel relaxed, confident, and reassured.

There are many factors that may affect how a bride feels on her wedding day (when she enters her ceremony); guests, weather, groom, bridal party etc. The tempo (and mood) of a wedding ceremony is often set by the Celebrant, which is why the added pressure of 'dry and dusty', or 'strict and formal', may be more than most brides and grooms bargained for.

What Grooms Want

Many grooms suffer from pre-wedding jitters and nerves which can be intensified the more formal or rigid the ceremony is. As a celebrant, Tim ensures that the groom is calm, composed and relaxed before the ceremony commences.

The Boring Ceremony

There is a vast difference between professional public presenters (like Tim), and Celebrants who merely officiate. Having presented thousands of public events, Tim finds that the most successful wedding ceremonies are those that are short and light-hearted.

What is literally only a 20 minute ceremony, can seem like forever for a bride and groom standing in front of their guests and bridal party. Importantly, a touch of humour, lightness (or spontaneity) is arguably the most effective way to enrapture your guests, and prevent them from nodding-off during the biggest event of your life.

The addition of rituals are also a great way to ensure the pace of your ceremony is kept upbeat.

Memorable Vs Unforgettable

When your wedding day has passed and your guests have gone home, your reception is behind you, and you settle into married life to begin your new journey as husband and wife; how you remember your wedding day will be most important.

Weddings are often referred to as either memorable or unforgettable. As a modern Celebrant, Tim prefers to deliver ceremonies that are unforgettable; ceremonies that your guests will remember above all others, and ceremonies that make each and every bride and groom feel like they have made the best possible choice.

Your wedding journey has just begun.
